Today in thesis I continued researching the topic of when the appropriate age for resistance training is, discovering an interesting fact: while lifting weights puts force on joints and growth plates, it is less than 10 times as much force as children feel on their joints when they are merely running around and playing.

After having a discussion this weekend with a close family friend, I decided to look into the topic of when is an appropriate age for children to begin resistance training. My friend, who believes that weight training is only necessary after the individual reaches 20 years old, and I do not agree on the issue so I decided to look more into it.

Today in thesis I spent the first hour and fifteen minutes doing research/compiling information and then creating an outline for my 8 - 10 minute speech next Tuesday. For the last fifteen minutes, I practiced my speech to myself, unfortunately, it is a little short so I need to try to find more information to put in it.

Well, to my satisfaction, the first week back at school after winter break went by quickly. At the beginning of class, I registered for the AP prep sessions and discussed with Mr. Correa specifics regarding the visual component of our upcoming presentation. After that, I continued my work on my final product for my end-of-year project, referencing both the textbooks that Mr. Campbell gave me and YouTube for inspiration. I have still not concluded what material I will use for my project but I plan to look around my house for anything that I might be able to use.

Fortunately or unfortunately, today was the first A day back from winter holiday. After dreading doing work for the first five minutes of class, I resumed my work on my thesis project. Today, instead of focusing on my essay, I brainstormed on my product. After watching several YouTube videos as well as reading some articles, I narrowed my scope on the arm model that I plan to create and have a few ideas of how I can effectively show the functionality of skeletal muscles in terms of their insertion points and origins with balloons, clay, paper, or wood.
